Preferred HealthStaff Inc.
evolved from marketing research that showed nursing homes case mix fluctuates. Due to budget constraints, nursing homes are keeping their nursing employment numbers based on case mix opposed to staffing up during high census and staffing down during low census. Facilities are finding out that it is more economical to staff with agency nurses to handle times of peak census/ case mix. This eliminates the additional cost of recruitment, orientation, benefits, sick leaves, vacation, overtime rates, payroll matches and the list goes on.
