Some overall benefits of massage:

  • Increases circulation of both blood and lymph fluids; prompting maximum joint flexibility, greater range of motion, and ease of movement.

  • Strengthens the immune system--the body's natural healing defense system--by stimulation optimum lymph flow.

  • Relieves muscle tension, stiffness and soreness, reducing muscle spasms.

  • Induces deep relaxation, allowing for a calmer satet of alertness and increased capacity for clear thinking and rational decision making.

  • Relieves tension related headaches casued be eye strain, and stress.

  • Lowers bloodpressure, decreasing strain on the cardiovascular system.

  • Alleviates effects of stress related fatique that prevent deep, restful sleep.

  • Imparts an enhanced sense of well-being, improving self image, and ease of emotional expression, decreasing depression and anxiety.

  • Manages, and eliminates, specific forms of chronic pain; and eases medication dependence.

  • Satisfies our essential need for caring, nurturing touch, which communicates an awareness of feeling balanced, and in harmony with our whole body.

Clinical practice guidelines from the 2008 American Pain Society and the American College of Physicians recommend physicians utilize massage when treating unresponsive chronic backpain.

Massage is more than simple touch; it is skilled, professional, hands-on technique applied with intelligence, control and purpose. Massge is not a singular practice or discipline and may employ a variety of styles and protocols based on your specific needs. Massage can be relaxing, therapeutic, gentling, emotive, and healing.

The effects of stress on the body not only include chronicpain, stress also degrades the immune system significantly; destroying the defenses of our immune system's natural desease fighting lymph fluids. This provides ample opportunity for illness and disease to invade our body. A regular massage regimen can combat stress.

Massage is cumulative, the more you get the better you feel. Don't let another painful, stress filled day go by. Call today and schedule a massage. Develop your healthy treatment plan with a professional massage therapist.
