The Affordable Care Act included provisions to encourage the formation and support of Accountable Care Organizations, the groups of healthcare providers who come together voluntarily to give coordinated, high-quality care to Medicare patients. As ACOs increase in popularity, human resources departments will need to play a strong role in strategically supporting them and dealing with challenges that come up along the way.
